Description

Anyone wishing to develop or expand their knowledge and confidence in a patient monitored environment is encouraged to attend. As well as the essential information concerning the monitored patient, the rationale and insight behind effective 12 lead ECG acquisition will also be covered. 

What to expect

This is a classroom based, face to face, learning episode.

As well as the theory and practice of the monitoring process, patient assessment and appropriate treatment options will be discussed. Learning outcomes are primarily driven by enhanced bedside management, and the timetable is flexible to actively encourage discussion and reflection. Whether currently involved in ECG monitoring or working towards a certain specialty, a positive learning experience will be provided.

•           Electrophysiology

•           Arrhythmias

•           The 12 lead ECG

•           Acute Coronary Syndrome

Your Presenter

Thirty-nine years a nurse, David Cunningham has a wealth of knowledge and experience in managing the critically ill patient. Fifteen years in acute cardiac nursing were followed by Twenty years in various education roles. Currently an ALS2 instructor and Nurse Educator within the Adelaide hospital system, David has a keen interest in simulation training and cardiac assessment, specializing in ECG tuition.

A wide variety of visual learning tools will be utilised throughout the day.
